Second day from Leon. Yesterday I did a short day and stayed in an Albergue 11 km from Leon. I met some interesting people during the walk. One was career army, one was career state department, and a young woman who joined them during the walk from Bulgaria. They were the 3 J’s: Joe, Jerry, and Jenny.

The Albergue was a nice place with one room and 18 bunk beds. I was the first person there so I got to pick my bed, and finally got a bottom bunk. The owner cooked a delicious dinner. Korean mafia was out in force with 3 generations hiking the Camino together. Grandma, her sister, daughter, and 14 month old grandson. He was adorable. They didn’t carry anything other than him, and what he needed. They were doing portions of the camino. Daughter spoke good English. I told her about I Ho a bit. I also met the kindest man from Ireland. I would like to be more like that.

Today was a fast hike of 21 km. Wasn’t much open to stop at along the way so I only took one real break for lunch till I got here in town, and then I stopped for a beer. I am in a hotel. I prefer the privacy, and having the toilet closer than 50 feet away.
