Tomorrow is Santiago. Two days I will spend there; I think I will do a tour of the church this time. After that, I will walk to Finisterre. Time is a great luxury. On my Camino last fall, I was in a hurry at the end because I knew bad weather was closing in in Montana and I had a long motorcycle ride home. I don’t have time pressure now; I just need to be in Madrid on the 29th of August to catch a flight to Italy. Today I only walked 10 km; tomorrow will be 15. I have found my body complains for the last 2 kilometers even when it’s a short walk. Human nature I guess. I was debating whether or not to get my compostela. I am not a fan of waiting in line, but I decided to get it. That’s how they keep statistics on the Camino, which helps with planning and managing. They are predicting a record setting year, with over a half million people walking on the various Caminos. After Spain, the greatest number of pilgrims come from the U.S. I walked the spiritual variant at the end, which leads to a 1 hour boat ride to Padrón. Here are some pictures.
