I finished my second Camino yesterday. I paid 4€ to store my backpack and wandered around for several hours. Picked up my Compestela (certificate of completion) ate, drank and people watched. It was hot. I was sitting on the ground in the shade when a Spanish man came to me and started asking me questions. He was berating me for spending time in his country and not speaking Spanish. So I asked him, I have been to 10 countries, does that mean I should know 10 languages? He insisted I should learn some phrases. I asked him to say thank you in Korean. He tried to bullshit me by saying something in Chinese. Finally he went away.
Today I booked a guided tour of the cathedral. I screwed up. It was in Spanish. It was kind of a ripoff anyway. I paid an extra 10 euros to see the portico. About 1/3 of us had paid extra. We went back into the cathedral, and the guide spent 10 minutes describing the portico to us and showing pictures of it on his iPad. Then he collected everyone’s ear piece, and sent us upstairs to the portico. That was it.
My room has A/C. So good. Tomorrow I leave in the dark to walk to Finisterre, 90 kilometers away.
