Flying is not on the top of my list of favorite activities. I had great connections, Bozeman to Newark, 3 hour layover, and then on to Lisbon. Even flew on a dreamliner, Boeing 787 across the pond. It still pretty much sucks.
Been kicking around Lisbon for the last two days, seeing the sights, adjusting to local time. Tomorrow I am taking a train to a town 40km away, will spend the night, and come back to Lisbon on July 4, to start the walk. It’s hot, but by walking in the shade (buildings are mostly 4+ stories) it’s not bad. My left foot is sore, slight case of plantar fasciitis, but I think I have that under control.
I’m a different person than I was last September when I started the Camino Frances. I have done the work, lots of tears, grief support groups, and lots of love and support. I believe this Camino will be a very different experience. I know longer have any concerns about my ability to do the walk. Here are a few pictures from Lisbon.
